I drew the original with a book of stamps folded in half to draw the Twin Towers & my business card to draw Pentagon & Pennsylvania.  I had a friend clean it up.  I took this black & white outlined card to an event and this is how one person personalized it!  Amazing!

A Rose of Thanks has sent out over 20,000 cards since Valentines Day of 2007. Opportunities just knock on the door or come as a flyer…

The Flyer happened on my birthday in NYC after seeing Katy Perry at the Today Show concert series. I went to Trump Tower Grille for Lunch and then went down to Ground Zero. Figure since I was down there I would go to where they are proposing to build the Mosque. I go to park Ave and there it is. There were reporters cameras and a gentleman being interviewed. as the title It was written by the person who passed out the original letter that spread the word that the mosque was being built. At the bottom of the page was the phone numbers for:

The NY Governor, The Archbishop of NYC, His, and The First Lady of the USA… yep that’s what I said no way.

I remember reading that one of the 1st Lady’s missions was supporting military family so after I got back to Charlotte, I figured what the Heck I have nothing to lose. I called the Number and the person answered the phone 1st Lady’s office.

All from a flyer I got on my Birthday! 

On Monday, January 1, 2007 – I called FTD after looking online for prices of roses and asked them for a quote for 250,000 roses 45 days out from Valentines Day.. the original idea was to send each troop in the gulf region a Rose and a Valentines Day card. The person at the other end of the phone was dead silent at the request. As I explained it was for the troops she said I should Set up a myspace page for it… so I did and I started www.myspace.com/aroseofthanks on 01/01/07. It was A Rose of Thanks only website until August of that year!

We got over 250 cards during the 2 days we were out at the Vans Warped Tour last week. Loved the energy of all involved. The bands, the music, the fans and most importantly the othe non profits that were out there.

A Rose of Thanks will be at the Vans Warped Tour in Virginia Beach and Charlotte this week! If you are going stop by and say hi!

Charlotte, NC – July 9, 2009 – A Rose of Thanks, a non-profit organization with the goal of sending a Thank You Card every single U.S. Armed Service member in the Gulf Region, will attend two upcoming Vans Warped Tour events with cards for concertgoers to personalize and sign.

At both the Virginia Beach and Charlotte dates (July 22 and 23, respectively), A Rose of Thanks will set up a station in the Non-Profit Area with blank cards, markers and pens so any and all show attendees can personally thank one or more U.S. Armed Service members for defending the U.S. and our families.

"It is because of sacrifices made daily by our troops, and their families, that we are able to live in the greatest country in the world," said Matthew Hunt, founder of A Rose of Thanks. "If everyone of us took just 10 minutes a month to write a note or send a card, then no service member would ever go without receiving a piece of mail. What's 10 minutes when these men and women are risking their lives 24/7/365 to defend the freedoms we enjoy everyday?"

Music fans can personalize and sign their own A Rose of Thanks card for the troops at the two following Vans Warped Tour dates:

- July 23, 2009: Charlotte, NC – Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
